The 2016 Psynk Award in the Grind category goes to Christopher Gillberg, Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Gothenburg.
The Psynk Award - for laudable efforts relating to child and adolescent mental health - was created in 2010 as a form of encouragement, inspiration and appreciation for those individuals and institutions in our country who in various ways contribute to child and adolescent mental health. The award is presented annually using an open nomination process The steering committee for the project Mission Mental Health at the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions makes the ultimate decision on award recipients.
The Grind award is presented to individuals or organisations for persistent and unyielding work for child and adolescent mental health.
The 2016 award goes to Christopher Gillberg for showing a persistent commitment in his work and research - sometimes in the face of great adversity - to children and adolescents with neuropsychiatric difficulties and their right to early and competent assessment and intervention.
